300 Man Kumite?

Does anybody have any information on Mas Oyama's 300 man kumite, did it actually happen or is it just one of those exaggerated stories? What years did it take place? you never seem to hear of anybody that had witnessed it or even participated in it, all you hear are vague stories past on by books and Dojo instructors. Where can we find details on this amazing event?

Well, it boils down to trust.
Do you trust the story tellers ?
Do you trust the book scource ?
On the web you can find filmed evidence of Matsui Kancho doing 100 fights, yet many still doubt that it was real.
Hitotsu, wareware wa, shogai no shugyo o karate no michi ni tsuji, Kyokushin no michi o mattou suru koto.
All our lives, through the discipline of karate, we will seek to fulfill the true meaning of the Kyokushin way.
