This is the real thing! I am proud to offer just 18 7 4 (as of October 2011) original copies of these highly sought-after collector’s items of my classic  book, The Budo Karate of Mas Oyama.

This reference on the history and philosophy of Kyokushin Karate is as relevant now as it ever was. The value of this original collector’s item keep rising year after year, making it not just a valuable reference but also a real investment.

I wrote this book in 1987 and released it at the Fourth World Championships. My studies in both yoga and Kyokushin showed me that the two paths were different expressions of the same truth. There is a fundamental unity between original yoga principles and Mas Oyama’s Kyokushin philosophy. Sosai was, above all, a philosopher and teacher. This aspect was, due to his strong physical presence and the nature of his art, somewhat overlooked. Through the years, as I was privileged so often to travel with Sosai in the capacity of his interpreter, I became more and more touched by his wisdom, deep understanding and genuinely kind heart. I saw with my own eyes the truth of his conviction and his nature as a real giant among us not just for his fist but also for his understanding of life.

As Sosai’s own books went out of print, he adopted my own book as the one he would give to guests as they visited him at Honbu. In time, the book I wrote primarily as a guide for my own students became a worldwide best seller.

None of the books I am offering have ever been opened. They are in perfect condition except for some colouring of the page edges due to the march of time. Each book will be posted well protected to ensure they arrived in perfect condition.

In addition, if you like I am happy to autograph your copy.

Just drop me an email when you send your order please.

The book has become quite a collector’s item and has been sold online for up to US$2,000. I check from time to time and regularly see them available online at various book selling sites for anywhere up to $400 and $500 a copy. The last time I checked there were three, priced up to US$599 (for a copy in good condition), so they continue to sell steadily, even at $500 and more.

I am making these collector’s items available for US$400,

including registered postage worldwide.

“Your book helped me greatly while preparing for my Shodan grading, and has helped many of my students in Melbourne over the years (although my club owned only one copy). ...you may be aware your book has made an impact in the world of Kyokushin, and indeed karateka the world over.” D.H.
“It is a book that people who I have trained with from all the various groups have collectively called their bible... I know that you have sometimes visited the Kyokushin for life forum and there has often been chatter on there of people from across the globe looking for your book. As a collector its rarity excites me but its as a karateka that I am truly blown away. I remember borrowing a friends copy about 20 years ago and just sat there and immersed myself in it. It had a huge effect on me back then and I’m sure it will have an equal if not greater effect on me now after more than 20 years on this journey.” S.L.
Firstly I would like to thank you for writing your book, The Budo Karate of Mas Oyama. I have been training now for just over 5 1/2 yrs and first read your book during my first year after having graded to 10th Kyu.  My Sempai loaned me his copy of the book, and I struggled to hand it back!! D.V.
I am the lucky owner of your book the Budo Karate of Mas Oyama.  I find it to be the best resource for Kyokushin Karate and inspiring. S.L.
Thank you so much for the book. I'm in love with it all over again. I've been sitting down explaining to the kids why this book is so important to daddy so they won't use it for a coaster of to hit their brother/sister in the head during an argument. G.L.
Osu! Thank you very much for writing this book! I heard about it for many years and read parts when it was quoted in other books but now I have my own copy it makes so much sense why people always raved about it! It is one of the most inspiring books I have ever read. S.S.
Over the years I have received hundreds of messages, emails and letters from readers who have been inspired, uplifted and touched by The Budo Karate of Mas Oyama. Here are a few of their unsolicited comments.
